The emergence of Rt. Hon. Evangelist Edidiong Inyang as Executive Chairman has rekindled interest in sports within Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
Just a few months after assuming office, he led Team Ibesikpo Asutan to a rewarding outing at the 2026 Akwa Ibom State Sports Festival, where the team secured several medals.
Building on that success, he organised the Chairman's Cup Football Competition, in which Asutan 1 emerged champions after defeating Ibesikpo 3.
In April, he broke a longstanding jinx by becoming the first Chairman in history to host the Akwa Ibom State Mini-Football Tournament in Ibesikpo Asutan. The competition featured participation from all 12 wards, with Ibesikpo 2 emerging victorious.
The Chairman has also expressed a strong commitment to discovering and nurturing talents that will bring national recognition through sports.
