The Ibesikpo Asutan Inter-School Quiz Competition 2026 opened at the Council Hall, Nung Udoe, bringing together teams of students from secondary schools across the local government area for a week of academic competition running from the 24th to the 28th of September.
Contestants faced off in rounds covering general knowledge, sciences, and civic studies, with each school fielding a team of four at specially branded lecterns before an audience of pupils, teachers, and parents. The competition's format — modelled on a full quiz-show stage, complete with microphones and a live scoreboard — gave finalists the experience of competing under real pressure.
Speaking at the event, officials of the local government education desk described the competition as part of a broader push to raise academic standards and encourage healthy rivalry between the LGA's schools. Winning schools will go on to represent Ibesikpo Asutan at subsequent rounds of inter-LGA competition.
The executive council thanked participating schools, teachers, and parents for their support, and congratulated all contestants for representing their schools with distinction.
